    Fabulous

Lovely breakfast and in a fantastic location. Such a pretty place.

There were no clear tables at breakfast so this was disappointing for such a high quality establishment. My room window felt quite small so I didn't get a good view despite the grounds being pretty. The room is nice but due a refresh due to the cost of room - not in perfect condition as you might expect.

    Fabulous

Beautiful situation, fine public rooms with well-designed decoration and fabrics to suit their historic proportions. Good food, and very friendly staff. Plus points for offering free wi-fi (which other hotels should follow!).

Room 1 is a lovely room, looking a little tired. The television did not provide the channels offered on the laminated card provided, nor the radio channels offered. Since the hotel has broadband, the range of channels could easily be extended.

Nice house in nice surroundings, friendly and helpful staff

    Exceptional

Lovely spacious rooms, tastefully decorated and very clean and comfortable. We had a bedroom with large windows overlooking open countryside, four-poster bed, sofa, coffee table, dressing table, wardrobe, lots of space, big bathroom with plenty of good towels. The grounds are well-maintained parkland and gardens. We ate a delicious evening meal in the restaurant and full English breakfast complete with fruit, cereals, breads, pastries, etc., etc. The service is warm and friendly without being intrusive, nothing is too much trouble, and the duty manager seemed very hands-on.

We felt sorry that the hotel was not busier - don't people know what a lovely place this is?! We wished we could stay longer and would like to come back soon.

I liked the imposing architecture of the exterior and the country house charm inside. The attentive staff who were always pleasant without being overbearing. The spacious bedroom and adjoining bathroom added to the comfort of our stay. An excellent breakfast started the day off well.

Overall this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Excellent value for money, beautiful location. The staff were great and the room was clean and quite luxurious. The food was excellent and I would definitely use this hotel again and recommend it to my friends.

    Fabulous

Set in a wonderful location, very quiet. Nice grounds to walk in, but they could do with a gardener. Parts of the hotel have been brought up to date but some parts are "tired". I must say that it is very clean, good quality bed, good bed linen and very generous bath towels which you don't get in every hotel. The restaurant was good, nice selection of food, plates could have done to have been hotter!! All in all good value for money, would go again.

Not a complaint but the young waiter in the restaurant was over eager to please and did get a bit monotonous asking if we would like more water, about 5 times during each course. Suppose better than not asking at all.

Location, and the country-house hotel feel for a good price

    Exceptional

Very comfortable room (superior deluxe, room 4), and superb breakfasts.

The bath/shower took ages to run hot water, we nearly gave up trying, but wasted a lot of water waiting for it to flow hot.

This is our second time at Solberge Hall and we love it, we prefer the bigger rooms, but for a nights stay they are expensive.
